Cool Sculpting

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting, a state-of-the-art non-surgical procedure that reduces fat is now available at (all or some locations?) Spasation Edmonton! CoolSculpting is a ground-breaking technique that reshapes your body by freezing excess fat and permanently destroying fat cells.

How does CoolSculpting work?

CoolSculpting delivers safe and controlled cooling that effectively targets and freezes the fat cells beneath your skin, leading to their gradual death. Your system naturally disposes of these dead fat cells, re-shaping your body.

From Popsicles to Cryolipolysis® to CoolSculpting

Years ago, scientists at Harvard University observed that some children who ate popsicles got dimples in their cheeks. The scientists—Dieter Manstein, MD and R. Rox Anderson, MD—realized that the popsicles were freezing and eliminating small pockets of fat cells.

The idea that cold can target fat cells—without damaging the skin or surrounding tissue—was the insight behind Cryolipolysis®, the proven science on which the CoolSculpting procedure is based

Is CoolSculpting Safe?

CoolSculpting is the only FDA-approved, non-surgical treatment that uses controlled cooling to eradicate stubborn diet and exercise-resistant fat. CoolSculpting offers verifiable, visible, long-lasting results – the shape of your body will be transformed, and you need not take any time off to recover. Four million CoolSculpting treatments have been safely and effectively performed world-wide, with amazing results. CoolSculpting permanently removes treated fat cells without affecting the distribution of untreated fat cells. What is the difference between losing weight and losing fat?

What happens to fat cells when you lose weight is different from what happens to fat cells when you lose fat. The number of fat cells in our bodies is fixed during our teenage years, so losing or gaining weight does not really increase or decrease the number of our fat cells. Losing or gaining weight changes the size of our fat cells.

Fat Cells After Typical Weight Loss

After dieting and weight loss, fat cells get smaller but the number of fat cells stays the same. When weight is gained, fat cells get bigger.

Fat Cells After the CoolSculpting Procedure

The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure actually reduces the number of fat cells in treated areas by about 20% to 25%. These fat cells are naturally processed and eliminated, so they won’t migrate to another area of your body. CoolSculpting does not affect fat cells in untreated areas.
